We support people impacted by poverty around the world, with a primary focus on Latin America. We dedicate 1% of annual revenue to the Cotopaxi Foundation, which supports nonprofits with proven track records of reducing poverty through health care, education, and livelihoods.
People & Planet
We approach sustainability holistically. Since our biggest impacts occur within our supply chain, we work with factories that prioritize sustainability and treat workers right. We also choose recycled, leftover deadstock, and other sustainably minded materials for over 96% of our products.
Force For Good
To hold ourselves accountable as a force for good, we’re certified as a B Corporation, which means we use our business as a vehicle for social, environmental, and economic good. We’re also a dedicated member of 1% for the Planet.
The Mountain
One of the world's highest active volcanoes, Cotopaxi (koh-toh-PAHK-see) in Ecuador had a major presence in our founder’s childhood. The mountain’s glacial streams, wild llamas, and countless trails inspired him to found an outdoor gear company.
Why the Llamas?
These headstrong herd animals live in some of the most rugged regions of the Andes. They’re hardy, sociable, fiercely loyal, curious, and eccentric—kinda like us.
